Classical Liberalism Is Not Hermeneutical Libertatianism.

The classically liberal misnomer: Classical liberalism has been deliberately undermined ever since the State came into existence, undermined by obvious enemies and surreptitious enemies.

Always though, the divine forces inherent in equilibrium have been significant, more or less obvious depending on the exact moment in time historically. There is little disagreement among wise observers that we are in a special time historically. For the so-called "classically liberal" to view things so narrowly as to see Iowa as a watershed to verify hermeneutical libertarianism is short-sighted to say the least.

But it probably is not simply short-sighted, it probably has more to do with the surreptitious attack on classical liberalism by the phony namesakes, the hermeneutical libertarians.

How fast are things changing in the world? What could happen tomorrow to drastically change perception? Only those who truly appreciate and understand the forces of equilibrium can perceive the long run and know that the spin doctors (no matter whether they pretend and claim to be classical liberals or not) are in some way just trying to serve themselves, oblivious of what is beyond their myopic vision.

The Golden Rule is part of classical liberalism because of natural rights but also because classical liberalism has as its roots the combination of Aristotlean logic and the meditative application of the revelations originating in the Judeo-Christian faiths (which influenced that part of the world). As Murray Rothbard said, it is absurd to try to deny the influence that religion has had on history or the history of thought.

Hermeneutical Libertarians Resemble Neocons.

Steve Horwitz instantly shows his colors when he connects classical liberalism to J. S. Mill in the third paragraph. He is either a poor historian or he is deliberately trying to derail classical liberalism by attempting to take it down another track that allows for empirical hermeneutics. The truth is that Horwitz may call himself a libertarian and he may even be a libertarian but it is an outright lie that he is a classical liberal. His 'classical liberalism' lineage stems from J.S. Mill which makes him a 'liberal' with the likes of Keynes (whose fallacious economics stems from Mill).

Is Horwitz a Keynesian? No. Is Horwitz a classical liberal? No. Is Horwitz a hermeneutic libertarian? Yes. Would hermeneutic libertarians try to distort the message of true classical liberalism? Yes. Does true classical liberalism represent a 'danger' to the ego-driven interpretations of the hermeneutic libertarians? Yes. Is it now clear why Horwitz is acting like a neocon?

Classical Liberalism And Liberalism.

Classical liberalism has as its origin the logic of Aristotle which then blended with Christianity - during the summertime intensity of that Revelation - in the works of St. Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, the Spanish Scholastics and has carried to the present in the works of Fredrick Bastiat, Carl Menger, Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard and contemporaries like Hans Hermann-Hoppe, etc. Classical liberalism is what blended with Christianity to form the fruit of the divine civilization brought by Christ in what is referred to as Western Civilization. The formation of the State is what began to destroy (or attempt to destroy) classical liberalism. At some point in a deliberate effort to pervert classical liberalism a new designation was assigned to the separation of economic liberties and civil liberites, and that is when the definition of liberalism was severed from its philosophical roots of classical liberalism.

Classical Liberalism Is The Solution To The European Crisis!

Afterall, it was within the womb of the European culture that classical liberalism found the conditions necessary for its flourishing! And it was out of the womb of the European culture - often referred to as Western Civilization - that its most celebrated offspring (America!) received its inspiration when the Founders of the U.S. Constitution turned to the philosophy of classical liberalism for guidance.

So how can this suggested solution to the European crisis be seen as radical? It is radical, like the root of a plant is its radical! It is what nourishes the life forces necessary for growth! Europe needs to return to its root. Europe needs to be restored to its classical liberalism just like America needs to restore itself to its root - a Constitutional Republic.

What is the best means to attain this highly desirable ends? Nullification!

The solution to the totalitarianism of the State at all levels is nullification. The parasitic political class needs to be eliminated essentially because humans are fully capable of peaceful social cooperation. This process of the return to the natural wholesomeness of civilized human society, that expresses itself beautifully and succcessfully as part of cultural diversity, requires a strong medicine because the disease of Statism is so advanced. The medicine required is nullification!!!!!
